Rita's Therapeutic Art Studio provides an ideal, comfortable, therapeutic environment for learning. Our classes focus expression and creative, emotional release through painting and drawing for all ages 17 and up. Our art classes are designed to help individuals have a constructive and creative outlet in order to express themselves.

Art offers a way to reimagine their emotional struggles through the work itself and release conflicting emotional difficulties through visualization, and recognition. When combined with a critique and students talk about their individual issues from a new creative perspective; a synergy results that combines the best of both worlds of cognitive therapy and visual art.

Acrylic Painting

Acrylic Painting

Acrylic paint is a water-based fast-drying, versatile artistic medium. It is made from acrylic polymer and is much thicker and heavier than oil paint, which offers easier cleanup. Acrylic painting is a respected contemporary art medium and can be combined with oil painting to achieve a beautiful colorful result. The water-based nature of acrylic painting enables the use of transparency with gel medium and glazes and washes techniques in layers that upon mastery will enhance the students' visualization, creativity, and artistic vocabulary.
